Indeed sad news. His contributions to the Australian Internet industry in the early days were significant, and a bloody nice guy too! I haven’t seen him in years which is a sad thing in itself. Thanks for sharing the news with the list Skeeve.

Hi all,
I haven't seen it mentioned here, but Barrie Hall (https://www.linkedin.com/in/barrie-hall-a52942) passed away on Sunday night after a struggling with illness for a while now.
For the list, Barrie was with Telstra from 2003 till 2012 filling roles such as: GM of Network Engineering for Bigpond; GM, Security for Corporate and Enterprise; and finally over 6 years as the Principal Domain Expert for Internet and Broadband at Telstra.
He was good to have a chat with and a familiar face at the APNIC Conferences in Asia.
He also knew a hell of a lot about Juniper kit, especially LNS's and helped me with some scaling issues over the years.
He is gone far too soon and will be a great loss to the industry.
