Make sure your security groups and ACLs are properly configured for the
instance. Some places don't, and you definitely do not want your ACS able
to be accessed by nefarious parties.
As for dimensions and the like, that will depend on the size of the client
base and expected loading. Given you're going for a cloud system, its also
worth considering high availability by designing it to utilise ELB/ALBs,
more than one webserver and RDS for the backing databases if technically
possible.
