I didn't bother replying since opening up 2LD registrations seems to be a 
done deal, and a submission to the effect of "Don't do it" seemed 
pointless. I mean I could investigate how to make implementing it better 
but when I'm opposed to in in principle am I responsible for taking 
ownership of it?

Having said that I see it actually covers more than that, including 
asn.au, so perhaps I should dig in and comment.
