Don't quote me on this but I think you get that as credit to use for purchasing domains.  It's worth it.... I actually had the exact same concern when I signed up but have never looked back after Distribute IT, TPP, AussieHQ etc etc etc

I've got over a hundred domains with them and I've been using them from day one (2012).
