This hasn’t got anything to do with metadata or data retention, it’s to do with the interception act, which needs a warrant, perhaps they should have just used the DR regulations and they wouldn’t have all the fuss LOL.
I wonder who the carrier was that released the information without a warrant, I wouldn’t want to be them now either.
