[AusNOG] Xbox servers?

Hi Matthew,
Karl's answer is not entirely accurate, it really depends on the game
title. While some games do run in Azure there are many cases where "the
cloud" is not ideal due to the performance requirements of the server
software. Furthermore, if your game can't easily scale up/down it's not
exactly cheap to run a public cloud instance on a permanent basis and
that's where specialized hosting providers come in.
Full disclosure: my employer i3D.net AS49544 hosts a significant portion
of the Xbox but also PC/PlayStation infrastructure in Australia, mostly
for shooter-like game titles - and I doubt we're the only one competing
for this niche of the market.
Best regards,
Martijn
