The ACCC is mostly useless but I can’t see them letting the number of (real) mobile carriers merge down to 2.

Vodafone Group Plc is not going to leave the market and they have tons
of cash. now with them being out of EU, may be they'll look at spending
more downunder. My bet would be on them merging with Voda-NZ and buying
up Optus.
