So how does this amazingly great thing for all consumers in the world actually differ from the existing wholesale access model where everybody who owns infrastructure has to provide wholesale access for retailers to their networks at a set price ? and why is the ACCC getting involved and launching this campaign ?

This is just typical of our government, there is competition in the marketplace and NBN might not do so well and might cost too much, lets change the rules for EVERYBODY else so that they struggle or go out of business and NBN is successful so we can then sell it and pay for our retirement plans.

I don’t know whether to read this as a good thing or bad thing.

For one it means that RSP’s will have access to the big boys networks at reasonable prices, nothing really new or inventive about that, but on the other hand those people that have invested a lot of money in their own infrastructure in buildings or particular blackspot areas will then be forced to sell services for a regulated price irrelevant of how much it costs them to deliver and maintain the service.

I’m very interested to know how other people view this situation.

Paul
