Subject: [AusNOG] 48v active PoE to 24v passive PoE converters
Hi All,
I picked up a pair of ubiquiti 802.11ac AP's the other day, and when I plugged them into my cisco PoE switch, I found that my switch is the active type (48v) and the AP's are the passive type (24v) - because, of course, there's two PoE standards.
Has anyone had any experience with the various 48v to 24v PoE converters that are out there? Any horror stories? Was thinking of using the mikrotik ones, they're only about 40 bucks.
