Graphs may be nice, but they're often completely meaningless:
Let's say the red column is normal DDoS traffic levels, and green column is
the DDoS traffic levels that someone from one of the responsible parties
may say justifies their claims that they received a number of DDoS
attacks. Sorry, attempts, because, according to the minister, that's not
an attack, and everything is hunky dory, and all of your base are belong to
us, sorry, data is safe in our systems that have never been hacked (and of
course, as the heavily regulated financial services industry will tell you,
past behaviour is a great indicator of future performance).
This whole thing was a mess before it started, and rather than effectively
putting out the fire, it seems the parties involved are just pouring more
fuel onto the flames.
Sorry to derail your question Skeeve - but I don't believe we'll ever get
real meaningful data out of those responsible. All we'll ever see is data
designed to support their patently false claims. Nobody will fess up and
say "you know what, we screwed up" - there's too much at stake for that
(and we've already seen clear evidence of the behaviour normally associated
with a massive arse-covering exercise.
PS bonus points for anyone who can identify the source of the graph without
resorting to trickery like reverse image searches or examining metadata.
