[AusNOG] Overstepping Another Number On AAPT SIP Trunk

I didn’t think that overstamping of CLI on SIP trunks was permitted under telco regulations – anyone know otherwise?

Our SIP trunks only have CLI that is associated with the number ranges assigned to the SIP trunks, so my thought could just be based on the fact that we’re not doing it ourselves.

Subject: [AusNOG] Overstepping Another Number On AAPT SIP Trunk

Hey Ausnoggers

Just wondering if anyone has successfully overstamped a different number over an AAPT SIP Trunk.

Example

Site 1 has PSTN and SIP

When client makes a call out via SIP channel the PSTN number is overstamped in place of the SIP number.

AAPT has advised that it isn’t possible to do but I have seen other SIP providers like Engin do this.

Would love some help on this if possible

Regards

Andrew
