[AusNOG] microsoft office 365 routing and peering

Thanks for feedback on express route peering.

Now that I have analysed the internet flows I can see the traffic is routing asymmetric which explains the weird RTT

Outbound goes via perth, inbound comes back directly.

I'm logging a case with TID. Just checked with my Telstra service at home and see the same tracert via perth.

Running over your ExpressRoute is a good idea, but you will need an additional VXC and /29 for the Microsoft Peering.

It's worth it though, our latency dropped quite a bit in Chicago (our tenancies are there) when we enabled it.
