A theorem:
Broadband development and supply is an absolute disaster in Australia because the Government has claimed ownership over it, which means nobody can make any plans longer than an electoral cycle, which means any proposed build plan which takes more than three years to complete is impossible to take seriously.
We’re probably capable of credibly planning to build-out a local council area, because that takes less than three years. But not a nation.
Corollary: The Government’s ownership of broadband development and supply as a category has made it impossible for anyone in Australia to think big about broadband, which subsequently makes it impossible to achieve big things.
Conclusion: If you want a national broadband network, find another country.
