I'll throw in a tidbit or two ...

NBN will try to persuade you that pQOS on different technologies and 
different POIs are the same -- not the case.

CVC shaping, while a good idea, will _not_ cripple your operations if 
you just skip doing it, despite the protestations you will get from the 
NSOC.
