Shouldn’t be - the official archive does do the usual mailman obfuscation (removes @ to make it hard to just scrape etc).  But mailman could be sufficiently common that spammers have developed regex to deal with that.

It could also be unrelated to AUSNOG just to prove that correlation != causation.
