Dear Communications Alliance Carriage Service Provider Members,

In light of the new data retention obligations that will come into effect on 13 October 2015, the Communications Alliance Data Retention Implementation Plan (DRIP) Working Group (in cooperation with the Attorney-General’s Department) is progressing the development of guidance documents for service providers to assist them with their compliance efforts.

The attached document contains a matrix that aims to map the data set that must be retained for some of the most common services. The document is still in draft form and, as you can see, requires further input in some of its cells.

The Working Group is keen to receive your feedback on the draft matrix. If you would like to comment or provide input, please do so by 19 June 2015. The document, however, will remain a living document and is likely to receive further refinement over time.

Please contact us if you have any questions or wish to join the DRIP Working Group. Meetings are held on a weekly to fortnightly basis at CA / via audio-conference.
