Don’t go nuts looking at this problem, it should be easy to solve if your maths is right.  We at LONAP binned our Dell PE1950s a few years ago (which drew that sort of power!) and replaced with more capable Dell R300s which draw about 100-120W each and perform really well as general purpose servers.  Do you need to drive a higher CPU density than what you can do with off the shelf boxes in 120W?  I would say every marginal dollar returned above this point will provide diminishing returns.  That said, do let us know if you find something rack mount and really interesting. :-)
