Interesting idea, but more ports and GigE would make it less of a toy.

I’m probably missing the point, and it appears a good learning tool, but I don’t understand its application in the home or small business which I assume its targeting based on the description. It’s essentially a small multiport router without the router – you need an SDN controller for those sorts of roles.

OpenFlow on the cheap is apparently possible with MikroTik gear, but they don’t classify their implementation as “production ready” as of yet.
