[AusNOG] AusNOG Mailing List 2015

Hi all,

That part of the charter was written in 2005/6 (?) and that was ripped off
the NANOG Charter which was written in the 90¹s before Gmail and the
pervasiveness of HTML email. The list was still mostly read using Pine :)

I think it is commonly understood that a decade later that things have
progressed with html, but people should try to avoid sigs with embedded
images being sent to the list where possible. It is a courtesy and if
someone does it and often, then maybe just ask a moderator to shoot them a
polite message off-list.

I think that thread is now done.

Cheers

The 1990s called, they want their text-mode clients that can't cope with
HTML back.

Seriously, this is still a thing in this day and age? Sure, you may choose
to use a text-mode client. Just like you may choose to ride a horse to work
- but we don't ask that people don't drive past you for fear of scaring the
horse...
