+1 for the ATEN units.

I've used these since laptops stopped having serial ports and they have
always done all I needed, including talking to Ciscos. The ATEN ones
work out of the box on Linux too, without special drivers - not so
important for you, perhaps, but since I use Linux for pretty much
everything, it's pretty useful for me :-)
