Matthew,
If it’s a small station and you are looking for something entry level that will do the job, take a look at products like the JK Audio Interloop or Broadcast Host.
Both units will allow you to feed %analog_something% into a console without too much trouble. Balanced audio is a must.

Cost is somewhere around $500.
The larger tele-hybrid solutions are $5 - $15K.
The smaller solutions are becoming cheaper as many radio studio solutions are now IP based – ie: Wheatstone (http://wheatstone-radio.com/index.php/radio-products/digital-radio-consoles)

"On topic" is not just about signal/noise, it's about asking the right people the right questions.
Scott
In fairness if the person asking the question knew enough to know who to ask they wouldn't need a mailing list. As a tangent - this little thread also demonstrates why "reply off list" is a bad idea - if Ben had sent his email directly to Matthew then Peter would have no opportunity to correct the bad advice.
