[AusNOG] ADSL Modem Testing

Just piggy backing off this with a some what similar issue.
Can I have my own DSLAM? Maybe hook up a Cisco to be my LNS to it, and route traffic out my general gateway. So, I guess:
ADSL Modem --> Copper Pair --> DSLAM --> Cisco 2560XM (doing LNS) --> Std Internet.
I would like to do testing, maybe pull 50 gig file though it and ensure it never drops / goes up and down etc etc
Also, I would like this set to test ADSL on premises. For example, plug in my DSLAM and LNS down at the MDF, hook in my modem out in the field or IDF, and test.
Or, am I asking for too much?
Also, Joe, ZyXEL have VDSL models, but they look crazy expensive. This one is around $1.7K which is “somewhat” in budget.
I saw this:

Not sure if that’s what I want.
Also, this looks promising:

Any one with exp. With this, would help me and Joe.

Do you mean "it auths and I downloaded a file" "3 day burn in" or "long term reliability testing"?
Probably the same answer. Depending on cost of modem, just ship two and have small cost to ship back once it's all good and small warehousing overhead?

Hi List,
Was wondering on ideas for testing ADSL modem's in office before sending out? Whether its pre-configured before drop-shipping, testing a possible faulty etc etc.
The obvious solution is to have a phone line with service installed ready for testing - which we actually have. One Telstra DSLAM one Optus DSLAM to test both networks.
The real problem is - NBNCo has rolled out in the area, and these services are due to disconnect early-mid 2015. Very annoying as we service plenty of areas requiring ADSL Support - and with FTTN rolling out in NBN, and our area being FTTP, we will also need a way to support and test VDSL stuff as well.
With that my only solution to think of to date is getting an extremely small DSLAM that supports both modes and maybe some big coils to emulate line length (lol). I havent found many 'cheap' DSLAMs (cheap enough to sit around for non full-time use and no $$ return).
Are there any other solutions to this problem I'm not considering?
Thanks,
Joe
