Daniel,

If you use IPs from another subnet, you'll need to run OSPF / iBGP between the routers.

Don't forget, you'll need to do this for each network if they are in different vlans.

How many vlans are you talking here?

What switch are you using? Would it be better to get a L3 switch and run two routers with OSPF to switch and routed ports, either way the switch will be the single point of failure, and there is no need toying with VRRP.
