[AusNOG] Cisco 3750X power cables

Cheers for the info,

I'm genuinely shocked, we have been using those plugs for a while now and I just assumed it was a cisco proprietary cable. Good to know it's just a higher amperage cable and the notch is just to prevent lesser strength cables...

Thanks,
Ayden Beeson

You are correct though, that is the right plug (or near enough to)

Should click links before I reply :P

Thanks,

Hi Daniel,

They are IEC 60320 (also known as IEC 320) C15/C16 connectors. The only real difference to standard 'kettle cables' is that these have a higher temperature rating.

Jaycar has the plug if you are happy to rewire your own: http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=PS4013.

I'm not sure where is best to purchase a pre-made lead as they can be difficult to find at most electrical wholesale shops.

Good luck.

Cisco 3750X switches have an extra little piece where the power cable should go in the power supplies, so a standard kettle cable won't fit. Need a few of these cables to go from a standard PDU to the switch power supplies.

I'm wondering what the part number is and where's best to source these cables urgently in Melbourne, any recommendations?

Regards,

Daniel
