Hi Tom,
What happens the first time you have a fault and AAPT try to access their NTU to troubleshoot (which is not theirs, it's your device connected now) ? Then they send a tech out to replace the NTU because it's not responding ?
If they're doing any kind of authentication on the service then I imagine you would be unable to replace the carrier NTU (assuming the device stores the password using proper encryption) ?
Can I ask what you are wanting to achieve by trying this (just curious) ?
regards,
Tony.

Subject: [AusNOG] AAPT Alcatel NTUs
Hi Everyone,
Looking for some real-world experiences with the behaviour of services from AAPT with NTUs for both point-to-point ESSA services and ETA services when removing the NTU.
I basically want to know if I can operate “wires only” for a service that was originally provisioned on an NTU.
I am aware that AAPT will frown on this action, so I am looking to those that have actually done either of the scenarios above.
Thanks in advance for any information provided.
Tom.
