Quick investigation, HTTPS for logged in users (Chrome even tries to
go QUIC), and HTTP when not.

When logged in and accessing a youtube page, you're 301'd to HTTPS.
When you're not logged in (private browsing mode) the resource loads
fine over HTTP. Note, non logged in users aren't redirect to HTTP
though.
