With all due reference to the ballistic brigade, I have found from personal experience that there is great satisfaction in lifting a large sledge hammer above one's head, and bringing it down forcefully upon the item of technology that no longer serves a meaningful purpose.

Especially if said item has caused endless grief in attempting to repair/ re-programme or otherwise give some reason why it should behave like it was advertised.

Flash drives are very important targets for this. Due to their limited write/read cycle, they invariably crap out at the most inopportune moment.
And hence they are candidates for the BIG HAMMER of frustration.

And while I understand the desire to "shoot the crap out of it" when it comes to stuff that no longer behaves, I would suggest that carrying a hammer for this purpose would obviate the need to explain oneself at a conference, or a client demonstration, and would also alleviate the potential arrival of Policemen in Ninja suits, and carrying high powered rifles.
