We put WHOIS services in multiple locations yesterday (see blog.apnic.net
for brief details), but you've demonstrated a problem with the service we
can't resolve immediately. We're rolling back now, will diagnose, and
re-launch when the problem is fixed.

You should see whois.apnic.net resolving again within 300 seconds, sorry
for the inconvenience.
