Actually, that part was implemented in Cisco land with marshalling delivered via Radius attributes. I’m a systems guy not a Cisco one but there’s some lurkers on this list that could explain. :)

FWIW, we investigated multihop in Linux land but to do it efficiently really requires a low level coded implementation (rather than a PPP -> PPP brctl setup) which we couldn’t see as being particularly cost efficient over doing “what we’re already doing” in other ISP-like deployments.
