[AusNOG] Dark Fibre Pricing

What might help is if you could provide background as to why you are seeking this information. Is it for a particular client, an industry review that will be shared at no cost or a one you will charge for?

An idea of long haul in which areas? Between which sites (exchanges, PoI's, data centres or buildings), metro, city or rural?

Also most long fibre services would probably be Commercial in Confidence which would also mean people cannot provide this pricing (even if they excluded vendor info) as there are only two vendors or long haul at present.

The more disclosure provided to the list would help people understand why it maybe worthwhile for them to provide input.

Cheers

I don't need to know the carrier/supplier, and all info is normalised into industry low, median and high prices for different distance bands (typically on a $/Km basis). I'm happy to trade info / insights with anyone who is able to help.

Personally, I think all the carriers should help her out as it helps with the reports she does... but they don't help much. Shara isn't putting together a carrier pricing comparison, but more research into industry trends and movement in areas like this.... and there are very few people other than Shara doing this.
