The Open Group are working on Cloud issues.
>From www.opengroup.org Quote: "The Open Group Cloud
<http://www.opengroup.org/subjectareas?tab=2> Computing Work Group is
working with other industry bodies to facilitate the growth of Cloud
Computing and its deployment in enterprises. As you would expect from The
Open Group, its focus is on secure architecture enabled by open systems."
There is also an Asia Pacific Cloud Applications Alliance that I'm very
loosely associated with.
Like the old saw re Standards, there are many industry bodies working in the
field.

Good idea Skeeve.
I'd like to see an industry group (someone nominate one? eg Standards
Australia) formulate some principles because most customers have no idea on
how the 'cloud' works or what to ask for when trying to choose a 'cloud
provider'.
Maybe even introduce some kind of 'cloud certification' that providers can
pay for to help recover reasonable costs of certification (nothing onerous
though J ) to add extra credibility else we may find that we'll be inundated
with companies making unfounded claims that they follow the code.

Yea there is, but I forget the name of the guy doing it. He's behind one of
the aussie clouds, real young fella like 18-19.

This looks really interesting. Is anything happening locally on this? or do
we just wait till they are finished, steal it and claim it as our own as
usual ;-)
