[AusNOG] Supplier of fiber patch leads with stock in Melbourne

I would agree, I would adopt the standard Wikipedia practice of "alphabetically order it and let the reader sort it out"
If this were a thing that was going to happen!
I suspect any wiki would immediately get a link from each vendor to their own wiki page with customer experiences, locations, positives and negatives etc.....
Thanks,
Ayden Beeson

Not to make a big deal of this - but if it's a private list for AusNOG members, I think we as a community are "smart enough" to not just try the first person on the list.
I think we're competent to use/maintain/be pretty happy with a MediaWiki style site that we can update with the information.
Yes, it could be abused. Yes, we could just "hit" the top person on the list - but we are all smart people. We also tend to see through marketing crap; and most wiki's have a pretty good change control process that allows you to see who/what did what.
Just my 2c...

As long as a single 'provider' is never preferenced over others when being displayed. Some 'moderate' moderation on the blurb/content a provider is allowed to place on there and a dynamically random list order on each page load (similar to AusRegistry showing the Registrars) should keep it pretty fair. This will help stop provider y paying $x to always be top preference on every page.

It depends I guess at how open it is to get your name on the list. It sort of can't help but become an irresistible marketing fest.

An industry resources wiki in general would be an awesome idea if we could achieve it without it turning in to an all-in marketing fest...
