Hello everyone,

RIPE-NCC, the European regional address registry, has just announced it's
hit its "final /8" of IPv4 addresses. This means it is no longer possible
to obtain new IPv4 addresses in Europe, the former USSR, or the Middle East,
apart from single allocations of one final block of 1024 IPv4 addresses.
Here's RIPE's announcement:
https://www.ripe.net/ripe/mail/archives/ncc-announce/2012-September/000615.html

"It is now imperative that all stakeholders deploy IPv6 on their networks to
ensure the continuity of their online operations and the future growth of
the Internet."

In view of this milestone, the Australian IPv6 Summit has extended its
early-bird registration deadline for one more week, to next Friday 21
September. See http://www.ipv6.org.au/summit

The Summit will be held on 17-18 October, and workshops on 'IPv6 Security' and
'Building an IPv6 Network from the Ground Up' are on Friday 19th, see
http://www.ipv6.org.au/summit/workshops.php

Regards,
Kate Lance
For the IPv6 Summit Committee
