Folks,
I'd be very keen to discuss, privately and with NDAs if necessary,
subject to the legal constraints set (of course), if any s313 requests
are ever received on this topic. Don't forget we have a number of
people in the Society with great expertise in this area both technical
and regulatory and it is an issue we are actively engaged with.
ISOC-AU is very committed to ensuring that we get the best regulatory
environment with the best oversight that we can of this type of
regime.
We also encourage people strongly to comply with the law.
We do not want to see degradation of appropriate internet
architectures because of poor implementation in order to comply with
the range of perceived approaches to this apparent directive. Nor do
we want to see people trying their "best" to institute protections for
crimes that may exist in the future without proper evidence and
process.
