[AusNOG] Issue getting routes from Telstra to 49.156.16.0/22

/24 won't work dodo were accepting the routes from Optus then sending them
back to Telstra, so you'll be stuck with the same problem.

The solution is that Dodo and Telstra need to fix what they're doing.
Telstra need to apply proper filters on Dodo and validate the routes they're
accepting (should be AS_PATH and Prefix list). I know Telstra's systems have
problems when there are large numbers of ASN's or Prefixes, but it still
needs to be fixed.

Dodo need to learn how to use BGP use proper controls to filter prefixes
and not to transit non-customer routes.

Hi Sheng,

I'd start by trying to advertise more specific prefixes. I see below that
Dodo was adverting /24's. If Telstra allows /25 routes to be advertised
you'll trump any AS_Path selections pointing to Dodo.

Path/option B, stop advertising the route to Telstra and let one of your
other carriers advertise it to them.

Would love to hear what Telstra come back with.

Thanks,

Wade

Yes I fully agree.

I should be able to escalate this complaint to Dodo or the respective
parties at Telstra but I expect it to fall on Deaf ears.

Any idea what the path of action to take in this situation is?

Cheers,
