MS introduced a 'soft' requirement of ECC memory in PCs for OEMs to get the
'Designed for Windows' logo around the release of Vista. Don't know what
happened to the requirement moving forward or if it will become mandatory.

Not sure there will be much ECC in use now PCs are 600 bucks.
