Some routers may take 198us to forward a packet. But for the L3 switches
deployed by people who care about latency, the bar is currently at under
500ns forwrading latency (less than half a microsecond) for something that
is a L3 switch with all features enabled.
That latency is a moving target as there at least 3 different companies all
competing building things of even lower forwarding latency.
