[AusNOG] mobile phones coverages alternative

Acutally some providers install a femtocell free of charge if their coverage is flaky. I got my provider to install one for free and they are not charging me for it, though my data usage on the ADSL has gone up :(. Works like a charm, though it took them about 4 weeks to get it going due to some automated provisioning failure in their systems.

Cheers
Hitesh

problem is "phone" = gsm network as far as the mobile is concerned
Take a look at "femtocells" some carriers let you put a tiny base station in and run it out over VoIP
They of course charge you an assload for the privilege of fixing their lack of coverage, both up front and ongoing costs.

If your big enough you may even be able to encourage the carriers to put a micro base station in that'll cover your building and the surrounds.

Hi all,

We work on a site where we do not get mobile signal coverage from our telcos.

However we can deploy several Wi-fi APs throughout the building.

Is there workable solution where our users can use our Wi-fi Aps to receive and making calls?

Thanks
