The Internet Society of Australia is pleased to announce it will be
spearheading Australia's contribution in the worldwide collaboration to
demonstrate the next version of the internet protocol - World IPv6 Day.

Recently the global Internet Society announced that major content and
network service providers will join together for an international day of
testing and measurement. Many major sites will be enabling their
Internet "front doors" via IPv6, and many for the first time.

See http://isoc.org/wp/worldipv6day/participants/ for the full list: you
will find many of your favourite internet sites there. Facebook, Yahoo,
Google and Limelight Networks were some of the first to sign up.

In order to make sure that Australian content and service providers are
best positioned to participate, ISOC-AU is co-ordinating participation
and awareness of this event.

Participation
=============
ISOC-AU is calling on Australian content and network service providers
to participate in World IPv6 Day. If your organisation would like to
participate in this event, please contact ISOC-AU's Vice President
vice-president at isoc-au.org.au for assistance and more information.

Help Needed
===========
Can you provide services to participants?
ISOC-AU is calling on its members to combine to provide assistance for
World IPv6 Day.

In this respect we are calling for proposals to:
- provide a package of free services to participants (temporary hosting
and/or carriage services, tunnel brokers etc)
- provide a standard set of IPv6 adoption services available to
participants for a fee.

This latter set of for fee services may include: migration and planning
consultancy, network services, content services, education and/or
training. ISOC-AU sees its role as a referral service for participants
wishing to take part in World IPv6 Day and hopes to provide such a
benefit to members. ISOC-AU will not be guaranteeing these services and
those electing to take them up will have to satisfy themselves
independently as to whether their own business or organisational needs
will be met.
