Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the info.
Run a trace back to my gw ip using the pacific looking glass:
http://mrtg.pacific.net.au/zip-lg.html --> 121.73.114.1
You can quickly see the traffic heads off to JP.
My thanks must go to the Telstra.au NOC team for picking up the list post here and passing it down to their L3 techs who ran a trace from their hand over...
Tracing the route to 117.53.171.171
1 TenGigabitEthernet7-1.ult1.Sydney.telstra.net (203.50.20.188) 4 msec 1 msec 2 msec
2 pacifi121.lnk.telstra.net<http://pacifi121.lnk.telstra.net/><http://pacifi121.lnk.telstra.net/> (139.130.248.86) 3 msec 3 msec 2 msec
3 vl63.switch1.syd.pacific.net.au (125.255.94.121) 4 msec 3 msec 2 msec
4 bvi11-0.cr-rtr01.ult.bulletproof.net (125.255.80.122) 1 msec 2 msec 2 msec
t.au identified that my traffic was coming back on a different path...
The pn trace shows that the bp traffic is being handed to pn who then hand it to their jp network, back to syd then to tc.nz then to me....
I have raised a ticket with BulletProof - #496934 - as I thought they might like to know that traffic that their network is handing to pn is going awol.
As I said to the BP guys, who really cares if Don's WP traffic is heading to blue yonda.... but my concern is who else's BP traffic is going AWOL and resulting in browser stalls etc.
Traffic BP is handing to Internode gets to me in ~55ms without packet loss, so I'm thinking some routing back to my desktop might be in order this afternoon ;) (The fact the traffic is getting to my 3G Android faster and more reliably is just embarrassing).
In the mean time t.au have pinged some HK eng's at PN, but as I said to guy at t.au, I followed Skeeve's issue with dealing with PN a number of months back so I'm not holding my breath. :)
