[AusNOG] nextgen and flooding

Those who are customers of Nextgen Networks should have already received the advisory, but for those who may not have (or others who are interested):

"Since 10.33am this morning one of our main interstate optical fibre cables has experienced damage near Thagoona, Queensland, due to the severe flooding. The damaged cable and electronics are underwater and are expected to be out of service for at least 2 to 3 days, flood water depending.
Nextgen has diverse and geographically separate optical fibre network cables connecting Brisbane and Sydney with automatic switch over."

(we are hoping that all of the DC's we have gear in at Brisbane have tested generators recently and have plenty of diesel in the tanks !)
