The race to the bottom is about prices and then inturn services.

iiNet cater to one part of the market and Internode to another. However, the market's aren't the same. It wasn't meant to dis-respect anyone just that iiNet with shareholders and profits as an unfortunate piroirty one driver and internode seemed more interested in the providing a type of service that wasn't always about shareholders and profits.

I wonder what this means for the end-user and for the corporate culture of Internode.

I've always seen iiNet as more of a bulk provider whereas Internode has put more effort into customer service and solid delivery.

That said, when speaking to friends and family I'd generally end up recommending one of them, and I suppose something like this was inevitable with the rise of TPG. Probably a good thing?

So who's left to buy now? Exetel? Macquarie? Who will strike next? Mr Malone or Mr Teoh?

I know it's early days, but I'm very apprehensive about this as an internode customer. I honestly hope ACCC takes a hard look at this.
