Cheers for all the suggestions.. I'm really looking for something that
allows tasks to be created with sub tasks, which can be allocated to users
and as sub tasks get marked as 100% it adds to the total % finished on the
main task...

I really don't need half the stuff in JIRA but it does look good the hunt
continues at this stage :)
Outlook tasks pretty much has 99% of what I need....

JIRA is weak on many aspects of project management, but great for lots of
software dev stuff. The good news is you can fix the problems yourself if
you have the time to write plugins. There's a reasonable amount of stuff
available in the plugin market too.

If you're looking to do complex scheduling with non-trivial dependencies in
JIRA, then you'll find quite a few gaps.
