[AusNOG] Vocus to cut latency to NZ ?? Does this make sense ?

Hi Noggers (and Dan),
I saw this article today in the press. It does not make any sense to me.
We have Vocus network services in Auckland and our Melbourne office reaches it in 7 short hops, yet this article says the trip is via the US ????
