I think you just made that bit up.

The ownership of a copyrighted work has nothing to do with whose
equipment is containing it;  It's all to do with contracts, 
licenses and grants.

Certainly this particular email message is unlikely to be construed as
work-related.  Under the terms of the employment contract I negotiated,
I retain the intellectual property on my non-work creative output, so even
though this email is sent from my Internode email address through Internode's
network to Internode's email gateway, I'm pretty sure I own all of it --
as per the defaults set out in the Berne Convention.

(I've clearly granted Internode and all of you an implied limited license
to reproduce, otherwise you'd not be reading it.  You're welcome :)
