Actually 100mbps would be nice for IPTV (e.g. http://www.tpg.com.au/iptv/)

Can ADSL2 suck down multiple channels at high resolution plus internet
and xbox? Probably not - though I doubt Conroy had this in mind, and
playboyTV would be likely blocked.

As for mandatory AV/FW, the best I've seen (which ISP?) was an opt-out
to permit inbound/outbound SMTP and inbound MSRPC, HTTP, DNS etc
(=<1024?). Took me an hour debugging a new firewall to work out why
SMTP was not working... probably saved their customers from spams and
scams coming through the portal - and this was in 2008.
