Guy,
These were all done with a 128kbps HTTP session in the background to force the radios on both ends out of sleep.
NextG ICMP RTTs are better than those on my DSL at home.

The response times on 3G are state dependent (and I don't mean
Australian states) in data mode.
Anecdotal figures mean little, unless you know what 3G state you are in.
You are dealing with a shared media - remember the old 10baseT days -
you are now reliving that history ;-)
