I for one, hate Lovely Lady Justice and her Senior Officers of "Voluntary"
Taxing and Revenue Raising lately. I live in VIC and they don't really have
any love for P Platers or any other drivers under 25 at this very moment.
I must admit, I wore P's for the first 4 months of my sentence (known a
Probationary License) and got 5 road fines including 3 speeding, 1
tailgating an L plater (I'm only guilty of this one) and 1 failure to stop
for a red light. As soon as I took my P's down off my backwindow (I still
have my one at the front, but its fairly un-seeable) I have had no fines for
almost a year and a half. (Except one for excessive speeding, reckless
endangerment and general stupidity... Moral of the story, don't pop a mono
inbetween an undercover cop car and your mate's car who you are currently
street racing on your japo sports bike).
We had this discussion a couple of days ago on one of the motorbike forums I
frequent. The main point against this was "But then I'll have to drink drive
to pick up pizza's and more beer, since no delivery kids will be working at
4am".
I believe they are going to make it so that you can get a "work pass". So if
you can get a certificate or not signed from your employer saying "My
employee NEEDS to be out at these times" (and I'm sure as techies, we can
get one for all hours of the night) and if you get pulled over your employer
is happy to take a call, then you won't get fined.
