I disagree.  It's important that everyone has quality Internet access.

It's just as important as having access to quality education (the two are
pretty tightly integrated, too).

In reality, most unloved areas will never be loved by private investors,
in fact, I think that better telecommunications infrastructure as a public
good encourages a wider bandwidth of investors and opportunities
(across all industries).

I see recuperating costs having more to do with the quality of the contracts
you negotiate with your customer, than the threat of competitors.

Anyway, it's 'opt-out' so what's the big deal?
