[AusNOG] Connectivity in Cloncurry

Skeeve -

In my humble view we always need a min of four before real competition emerges.
Take for example the Perth route ...

NN has bulk capacity on the Perth trunk & as you'd know, when you choose NN on say Brisbane-Sydney they are super competitive. However, on the Perth trunk they are very expensive. This is the failure of the Feds in terms of their Telstra Transmission regulation ... in short it's a farce. Rosemary Sinclair of ATUG has been active over quite some years in seeking a resolution, however, sadly without any success at all.

The blame lays at the feet of successive Fed Governments but now the current initiative to completely throw the baby out with the bathwater is just breathtaking.

So yes, you'll need to build microwave back to somewhere useful to make your Biz plan in the way that you likely hope.

Paul

Hey all,

Anyone know what the connectivity is like in Cloncurry - about 100km east of Mount Isa.

Interested in more higher capacity - fibre preferably.
